Engine sizes and weights

I was wondering....The way a 91 is a 60 size, but bored out, is a 120 and a 140 just a bored out 108?

The reason i am asking is because I have a UCD 60 with an OS fx 91 and would like more power. What engines do you guys recommend in the 120 size. Or should I go with a 140 if it is the same size and weight as a 120?

Obviously, i want highest power for lowest weight. Price does not matter much to me.

Thanks for the input.

Y-S 110 4 cycle is your ticket.

Well, I wanted to stay in the two cycle arena. I was thinking about a Webra 120.

Byt he way, have any of you guys had luck with GMS engines, for instance the GMS 120? They are really cheap at tower hobbies. I was wondering if they are good quality. I mean, price does not matter that much, but I wouldn't mind paying less money.

I agree with w8ye. The YS 110 is the same size as a .91, but has the power of a 140. The YS 110 is an awesome engine. If a YS 91 can fly the UCD 60 with authority, then the 110 will have no problem whatsoever.

Isn't the YS tough to tune and isn't the piping wierd? Not that it would deter me, but I am just curious.

You might want to do a search on the YS 110. Contrary to popular belief, YS engines are not tough to tune. They are just tuned differently, and piping is very straight forward to me. I find tuning an inverted YS much more easier than tuning an inverted Saito or OS. In fact, it takes very little effort to get an inverted YS to run and idle great.

Well, in any case....what are your opinions on the different 120 size 2 strokes out there?

Well we have a 120 Thunder Tiger,Saito 100 and a YS 110 at our Field in the UCD60 and all pull like no tomorrow. The YS 4S and the TT120 2S Hover at 1/3 throttle and even with the extra weight of the TT120 or the 110YS she still flotes in slow for landing.

The Webra 120 and the Thunder Tiger 120 are both great engines. They are not bored-out 108s. And a 140 is not a bored-out 120. The TT 120 is actually about a 127, and I think my two of them out pull my two Webras. But I like them all. I do run all four with Perry Pumps and fuel tanks on the CG.
