Help with name and specs for this engine
1 Attachment(s)
Hi,
I've picked up an engine at a swap meet, I just wanted a .60 size engine, nothing special. I taken a picture of the engine that I bought and was told was is a Fitzgerald - but now I'm told it is a Fisher. See picture below. On the side you can see it has an "F" which has light lines through it, kinda like a flying "F", you can just make them out in the picture. Directly below the "F" is "R.60" and on the other side of the engine is stamped 60045. All I want is to verify the name of the engine and get a manual, or the specifications, for the engine from someone. Can anyone verify that it is in fact an English built Fisher? If so, do you know where I can get a manual? I would appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks, Wayne Miller |

Hi Max,
The engine looks very similar to mine, although the picture is a little blurry. The number of fins appear to count the same on the head and sleave. The exhaust port looks a little different, but I think the one in the picture you sent me looks like it may have an exhaust adapter or extension on it. The carb on mine also seems a little different and perhaps mine is a little newer model carb. I'm enclosing two pictures, one with the same view and the other with a view of the opposite side. What are your thoughts? Thanks for your help. Best regards, Wayne |

Yeah,
Its a Fisher. I really want the XR model with the built in fuel pump. Yours has the telltale brass plug under the crank where it was run from. On the XR there was a pressure nipple here and the pump was built into the rear of the crankcase. This design was later copied by O.S. on their high performance .60 engines. Enjoy. Max |

It looks like a copy of an OS .60 FSR, even the carb, and the
two screws holding it on. The OS's didn't have the crankcase screw. Dave. |
