help!!

First off I am special ed. when it comes to these engines...(or maybe impatient)I have a seagull edge with a super tigre g90 on it. I bought the engine used on here........with about half a gallon of fuel in it. It is not fully broken in yet. Which buying it used could be the problem I know, but money is tight for me. The engine appears great and almost new and still has warranty left.I cant seem to get the engine to run right. I take off the glow heat and it dies everytime. It runs great with the glow heat on but take it off and that is it.!!! I have tryed glow plugs with no result. Maybe the fuel line is to small????. The tank is ok and the clunk is free from the back of the tank.......... Any help???????????????

RE: help!!

It sounds like it's too rich or you have a bad glow plug.
Gald to see you in this great hobby!

I had a G90 that did this one day. Couldn't make it run without the heat for nothing. After try several new glow plugs, I put a OS #8 in it and it ran perfect. The Hanger 9 Super Plug for 2 cycles should do the same for you.

Enjoy,

Jim

Had one, and it took a while to break in, but after that it wanted to be slobbering rich. I suspect a new plug would cure it though.

RE: help!!

If the engine is running....what does that tell you ? It tells you that the engine
runs....and there is nothing wrong with it mechanically.

If the engine dies when you remove the heater....it means that....

1. The mixture is set way too rich, and the over-richness is cooling down
the plug....and the fire is going out....or....
2. The glow plug is not working correctly....in that, when you pull off the
glow heater....it will not sustain enough heat to keep the engine running.

I know you fellas allready said this....but I wanted to give an explanation
for the layman....or new engine persons. ;)

Dave. :D
