I have found an old McCoy 35 rc engine. Do these engines use mufflers? If they do does anyone know where i can get one?

I don't think they ever used a muffler with these but it's possible something like an older Enya strap on might fit. If you're thinking of actually using it then only use a fuel with about 29% all castor. Both Powermaster and Fox make a fuel that's suitable, don't even think of using a normal RC fuel!

Charles:
The Wizard of Oz has it right, but there are many strap-on mufflers available. Check with Tower and Horizon, or your LHS if you have one. The Testor's McCoy engines were fast wear-outs, so as DU said, don't even consider a current fuel in it. Probably easiest to mix your own, get a gallon jug and pour a quart of degummed castor oil in it, and fill it up with methanol. Instant 25% oil mix fuel. Going to his recommended 29% is also possible, but 25% really should be enough. And it's easier to measure. Bill. |

Charles,
There are some Tatone universal mufflers on [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/WTI0095P?FVSEARCH=tatone&FVPROFIL=++]this web page[/link]. I could not find the 'Peace Pipe' there, however. |
