Engine problem

I've got a second hand Enya ss45-bb ringed engine. I'm not sure how old it is or how it was treated before I got it. This engine was salvaged from a house fire (not mine) and given to me. I've used it for a few seasons and it runs strong with the exception of quiting durring flight. This always seeems to happen after the 5th or 6th tank and after cruising around straight and level in the mid throttle range. This has happened in 3 different planes. Currrently it is in a profile funfly type plane and I can run it out of fuel in a hover or putting it through it paces as long as I'm on the throttle. Fuel is Omega 15% and an OS #8 plug. When the engine quits it is abrupt with no warning.

Any ideas?

Jay

Hi J Bolt
You could have something simple like a loose bit of something floating around inside your carby, and every so often it blocks up the needle. Or a similar little object could be floating around in your filter. have you looked in the filter for rubbish.
cheers

Could the engine possibly be overheating?

Or the rings need changing? Heat expands the sleeve/cylinder and the rings just slop around...loss of compression and quits? Hmm..seems strange it would work for six tanks then quit after.

Hey...something just came to mind. More than six flights.....you get long flying time on your batteries. :D:D Is it NiMh 2000mah?
