DF engine on prop plane?
I am curently finishing an old Royal F4U Corsair. You have to love the spun aluminium cowls in these kits! It calls for a 60-90 engine. I have 2 60 engines, but also a KB .82 DF engine. Has anyone ever run one of these with a prop? Also what's the feasability of running the rear exhaust pipe through the fuse and venting it out the side?
Thanks in advance for help. I will post pic later when time permits... :stupid: |
DF engine on prop plane?
Jay,
You could make it work but I wouldn't waste the time. The DF engine is designed for high RPM and doesn't develop the torque where you will most likely fly the Corsair. A standard .60 - .90 would be a better match. Mark M. |

Thaks Guys
Thanks guys. I have a supertiger 61 which should do the trick.
I do have an older KB 7.5 sport engine a front card and a rear exhaust and tuned pipe. It's going into a Diamond Dust and possible up the rear of a Combat Models F-16N as a pusher. It's perfect to bury the pipe and hide the exhaut. FYI... a few of my other projects my hangar |
