inverted engine
I have built a pusher plane with the engine mounted inverted. Will I have to turn the plane upside down to start it The engine is an Enya 30 SS. I have never mounted an engine like this so I was not sure how to go about it. This is probally a dumb question but I would appreciate some of you guys sharing some of your experience on this one. Also, inverted was the only way I could mount the engine on this plane.[&o] Thanks in advance.

You might want to do a search here for "inverted engine" as there are already numerous threads and tons of posts about it.
FYI, all of my engines are mounted inverted, and I never turn any of my planes upside down to start. |

Bill:
So long as the tank is centered or a little below the level of the spray bar it will act just like an upright engine, except for being a bit easier to flood, and a little more critical on the idle adjustment. No big thing. Bill. PS: Be sure the clunk is positioned at the REAR of the tank. With a pusher engine that will be toward the engine. wr. |
