Pressurized Fuel Tanks

I keep getting hairline fracture in the fuel tanks causing bad idle and hot engine. This was a sullival fuel 16oz. tank.

The question is who makes the best pressurized fule tanks fuel these pumped engines?

I have read the Tettra, and Hayes fuel tanks are the best after some reading here on RCU. I did not know that Sullivan made a seamless tank, but that is not where the problem was anyway. The engine is a YS110FZ. The neck around the bottle's outlet is to blame. I had even JB welded around the neck and I still had a leak. This time I soaked the balsa pretty good but not a problem.

My next attemp is to use the idea that comes from my Bergen Intrepid heli. The fuel tank is of some brand I don't recall right now, but the cap screws on. The Three lines are attached by using the screw in fittings and all is well with that machine. Of-course I would use only 2 llines. I have not flow it, but I have it running. I may tray that, it seems like a good idea. I'll also try a Tettra tank.

I have had good luck using Hayes tanks with my YS63.

Sullivan are good tanks but are prone to splitting if you tighten the stopper too tight. Tighten them but dont gorilla them. You'll find your problems will cease.

They may be hard to come by in the States... but I found that Kavan tanks are good value. They come with a brass ring that goes around the neck of the tank... no more tank splitting.

I also remember seeing an American advertisement somewhere for aluminium tank caps that fitted around the neck of the tank to prevent splitting... Unfortunately I cannot recall the brand... [:o]
Maybe someone else can chime in here.

Dobro tanks are good.

Hayes, Hayes, Hayes. When you see one, you will see the genius of the design.

NO tubing to bend.

NO screw-tightened stopper.

Sullivan, anodized red tank cap. Kavan tanks can be bought at Hobby-Lobby.

Anyone try a [link=http://www.bennettbuilt.com/page5.htm]Bennett Built[/link] tank? They look rather robust. They are a little costly, though.

I can't say for sure, but they look exactly like the tanks in the Bergen Intrepid heli. Tank, bit and lines included...

Hi All the pattern/YS guys at our field swear by Tettris tanks. From Centralhobbies.com
