Glow plug differences...

OK, it's been awhile, since I've had to make glow plug decisions. What are the differences in OS, Fox, Towers, JZ and what ever else there maybe out there in glow plug land? Does price really make a difference in quality and life of the plug? Last glow plugs I bought (early 90's) where still Fox plugs with idle bar and now I find that idle bars aren't really needed anymore. I have an ASP .61 that came with a idle bar plug, but I have obtained several OS A3 plugs for backup. I just need a little help at this point so I don't go any crazier than I am already trying to make expensive purchases for glow plugs.

Thanks in advance,

Scott Slayman

This is a good chart comparing OS plugs by heat range.

RE: Glow plug differences...

Well most glow plugs are fine, price doesnt really matter. For an engine lke .61 i think an OS No8 will b best.
Ideal bars are no longer needed since the new engines are designed to cope with quick change in trottle. Go to towerhobbies and click on "possible substitution" you'll hav an idea of the wat plug to use.

Hope it helps!
