Four Stroke Equivalent of 2C 0.46?

Would this be on par with a Saito 72 or 80? Also, since the rpm is decreased, I suppose that overall speed of the craft will be dropped too, but much more torquey.. true??

The Saito 56, 72, & 82 are considered four stroke replacements for a 46 2 stroke. You can adjust the speed or thrust by selection of prop pitch-diameter combination that matches your rpm.

But generally with the same pitch prop as you ran on the 2 steoke, the four stroke engine will fly the plane slower but have more torque as you say.

Enjoy,

Jim

Go for the four stroke, the acceleration is amazing, if you abort a landing, putting full throttle on a 2 stroke will take you a second for the engine to react, having a 4 stroke you practically feels that some unknow force or being is pulling your plane to no matter which direction you are going.

A saito 72 with 13 X 6 prop is amazing for trainer and 3D, 12 X 7/8 will be ideal for sport flying...this is my opinon

oh...forgot something else, higher torque allows you to run a bigger dia prop, the gyroscope effect of the big prop will make your plane more stable...
