os 40fx ringed &46fx ringed-crank case is same
 

dear All,

I have 2 engines os .40fx &.46sx ringed,would want to know whether their crank case is same dimension,can I inter change them as 40fx is slighty damaged & 46 sx is retired.

The mounting deminsions are the same as far as swaping engine in a airplanes goes.

hi,

thnks for the information,what I needed to know was I was thinking of swaping the crank case of 46sx with 40fx ,will the piston sleeve ,header sit in the 46sx crank case,the carb inlet on crank case has broken & I think I can t do much to repair it therefore I was thinking of just swaping the crank case.

will this work ??

Peter,

Even though the original casting patterns were the same, the sleeves have different OD's and the cranks different strokes. Therefore, the things that will enterchange are the bolts, carb, prop washers, glow plug etc. You cannot swap crankcases.
