Fuel Pump Required ?
I HAVE AN O.S. 91- 4 CYCLE INSTALLATION WITH THE CARB
ABOUT 2 INCHES LOWER THAN THE CENTERLINE OF THE TANK. I KNOW THIS SITUATION NEEDS HELP, BUT I DO NOT KNOW IF A PERRY OSCILLATING PUMP WILL CORRECT IT :confused: ? ANY SUGGESTIONS ? |

The only time I had anything that required a pump was when the tank was lower than the carb. The only problem I could see is fuel siphoning out of the tank. I may be wrong, just speaking from experience. I wish I could have helped more.

Sorry, but a Perry Oscillating Pump will not solve your problem.
However, a Cline Regulator will. |

Basically it's a on demand pump. It pumps on pulses from either crankcase pressure on 2 strokes or muffler pressure on 4 strokes. They cost 50.00 I can't find web address. I got it from a thread in this section. Their phone- 937-426-4167. e-mail- [email protected] Hope this helps

Say, my cub's carb is about an inch and a half above the tank centerline. As a result, the TT .91 FS won't pull enough fuel to open up full throttle. I was going to install a Perry Oscillating Pump... will this cause it to run too rich while inverted?
Would a regulator be a better choice? |

If the Cline operates on crankcase pulsing, what's the difference between it and the Perry Pump?
The Perry operates off of crankcase pulsing and has a flow adjustment screw. If it's similar, it may save you a few $'s. I think they are only like $34. Mike |

There's a distinction between pumping fuel and regulating fuel pressure. The Perry Regulating Pump and Cline regulator combine both functions in the one system. The pumping function is there to guarantee that the regulator always has enough pressure to work with.
The Perry Oscillating Pump has no pressure regulator. If the fuel level moves higher with respect to the carb, fuel pressure at the carb will increase. Lower the fuel level (through using it, or attitude change) and you get lower pressure at the carb. Higher pressure will give you a richer mixture, lower pressure gives you a leaner mixture. You will reduce the percentage pressure change when the fuel height changes with the oscillating pump, similar to what happens when you use exhaust pressure. |
