Best Hex Drive Tool For RC??

I am going to purchase one of those hex drive tool sets to work on RC engines. However, I have notice that there are many manufactures out there. Which one is best?

Hobbico are the best as one end is a normal hex and the other is a "ball hex", so in tight spots like on some mufflers, you can use them at an angle, rather than straight in!!

They have the red and the blue plastic holders, one is metric and the other SAE. I would get both as there are ALL sises used and if your at the field and you have not the right size, then you may strip your bolt!!

The Slip!!!!

The cheap, ball end ones don't last. If you want some good ones, check out the ones in the RC car section. They are high priced, but they are excellent.

WEHA's are excellent, they have become promenent in the US in the last 15 years and have become the standard of the small tool industry... I thought for years that Bondhaus was best and before that it was the ALLEN brand.

Enjoy,

Jim

Forget all of the hobby supplier offerings, they are cheap (Note, not inexpensive) offshore products. Go to an industrial fastener supplier and purchase "Unbrako" or "Holokrome" brands. They will not destroy the hex sockets in the engine screws and they will last for the rest of your life.

Hi!

Get special hardned tools like the Hungarian Hudy brand!
These are hardened tools that hold up much better than the cheap Bondhus variety.
See pictures. The black ones are Hudy the red one is a hobbico (at least I think so) exellent tools, the other shows Bondus...not recommended!

Regards!
