Tower .46 problem?

Has anyone had a Tower .46 seize up on them? I had one quit on me in flight with a BANG, but was lucky enough to get it safely to the runway and noticed the spinner and prop nut were gone. I removed the engine and inspected it and saw that the con rod had let go. Looking through the exhaust port, I noticed the piston had a shiny spot on the skirt which leads me to believe that it had seized and the inertia of the prop probably pulled the con rod apart. I run Byrons 15% fuel with the synthetic/castor mix plus 1 ounce per gallon added castor. The engine wasn't running lean, nor was it a cowled installation. After one flight, a few weeks ago it had started to turn over a little tight for some reason, but after a few more flights it was fine again. Other than that, it's been a very powerful and very dependable engine. Anybody ever hear of one seizing like that?

UPDATE:
Evidently nobody else has seen this happen, so I sent it in to Hobby Services and they gave me full credit, no questions asked!

I guess that's why I spend 95% of my hobby cash at Tower Hobbies. [sm=thumbup.gif][sm=thumbup.gif]
