WEBRA 36 BACKPLATE

I REMOVED THE BACKPLATE FROM MY WEBRA 36. WHEN I WENT TO REINSTALL IT I NOTICED A NOTCHED OUT PORTION ON THE FORWARD END. DOES IT MAKE A DIFFERENCE WHAT POSITION THE BACKPLATE GOES IN?

The flat spot is there to clear the piston at BDC... so it has to point "up" (towards the cilinder).
