TT pro 46 prop.

I am sure this has never been asked before.

Just purchassed a TT .46 pro for a Bi-Plane. I am not interested in 3D with this plane. What do you guys recommend for a prop. I have quick access to Master Airscrew and APC. Thanks.

APC or MA 12x4, both would work great. You will get over 13k rpm, going over 50 mph, which is good speed for .40 size biplane. You don't have to do 3D to use these props. They are good for quick takeoff, slow landing, and great vertical.

12-4 or 11-6, APC over MA, definitely.

I have 2 TT46's. I have tried many different props. I got the best results with an APC 10X6. I would suggest that or the 11X5. Don't make the mistake of over propping this motor.

An APC 12x4 is FAR from over propping a TT PRO .46. A 12.25x3.75 is getting close because of its wider blades. An 11x5 is an excellent all around prop for the engine. If you want speed go to a 10x7...or 9x7 or 9x8 if you change bearings to 'high-speed' ones.

FWIW...over the last 8+ years I have had at least 20 TT PRO .46's go through my hands...stopping for a little running while I had most of them. Though these engines aren't stump pullers like an MVVS .49 or Webra .50 they are quite good sport engines that develop good power for their size without overheating easily...if you use the right fuel and don't set them too lean.

Thanks Guys. I think I will go with the APC 10x6 or 11x5. Anybody want to trade 2 12.25 x 3.75 APCs' for 1 10x6 or 11x5 APC?

I'll second the 12x4 as a good choice.

A flying buddy and I were testing his GMS .47 (with Tower muffler) the other day with an APC 12.25x3.75 and an APC 12x4. The 12.25x3.75 did 12,600 and the 12x4 did 13,500 on this engine but significantly, thrust on both was about the same at just under 8lb.

I'll trade 10 x 6 props for the 12.25 x 3.75.
