Remote needle on Evolution .46
Does anyone know if the remote needle valve on a .46 Evolution engine can be moved to the carb? There is a capped opening in the carb and the needle valve will screw right in, but I'd like to know that it will work properly before I try it.

Hi!
.Don't mean to be rude in any way but...Why? The way the needle is placed originally ...in the back of the engine is much better than to have it at the carb. I always place my needles there whenever I can. Regards! Jan K Sweden |

That's kinda what I was thinking. Why would you want to? I runs great were it is. Fact is was kinda weary of these motors and finaly tried one. I'm very impressed with them, practically pulls the wings off my DAzzler:D. I suggest leaving were its at.

The Evo .46 has the same nedle set-up as a Magnum and will move to the front easily. I did it to mine.
You guys can have your rear needles. I have had too much trouble with mine except on the OS AX. As soon as I moved the needle to the front, all my erratic running quit. I have run an OS .91FX and several Magnums. The OS, I put a K&B on and everything else got converted. Let's say the banjo fittings are not my cup of tea. |

Thanks Ed, I actually got thru to the support tech at Horizon and he confirmed it this afternoon, said it would work fine.
Normally, I would use the remote needle valve for the safety aspect but I am replacing an engine that had the needle in the carb and it was on a plane with a cowl that already had the holes cut. Need I say more? |
