Remote needle-valve conversion

if i want to convert an front mounted needle-valve engine to a remote needle valve setup, i leave the existing needle little too rich and add a second needle in the back of the engine hooked up to the fuel line (fine tuned proprerly)...

my question is what type of needle? if one can't get a remote needle from the same make, does it has to be from a same sized engine of anothe make? does it matter which one?

can someone enlighten me on this?

thnx Vasek

Remote needle valve

Hi Vasek,

The easiest way to convert your engine from a front to a remote needle valve is to buy a conversion kit. If you look at your carb, the needle valve seat/cylinder assembly is removable(on most). The conversion works by replacing the needle valve seat at the carb with a fuel nipple that screws in place of the old assembly. Then a bracket is used to mount your existing needle valve at the back of the engine.

Here is a conversion offered by Perry:

This seems to match well to what you are describing
.

This is a conversion offered by OS for their engines:

Although it is stated that it will work only with their line of engines, it is possible that it will work with other brands.

Someone on these forums has probably tried it, so also try a search and see if anything comes up. :D

My $.02 for the day. :)
