O & R question .... Help !

I have a O&R .29 engine. My question is how does the cylinder come off of the case? And the head from the cylinder ? I see not screws / bolts except for the front case. I have that off already. Does it unscrew or do I need a special tool?

thanks

You can't get the cylinder off that motor it was spot welded on at the factory. The piston comes out by turning the rod sideways and pulling it down and out. Back when O&R was in business you had to send in the motor to have a new cylinder put on. There are some restorers that do work on these motors and have the equipment to do this. Hope that this helps. Dennis

ok

Dennis,
Thanks for the reply. That is exactly what I needed to know. I have been playing this this thing for awhile and stopped because I didnt not want to damage it. Good thing I asked for help, before I broke it. Well I will keep soaking the piston... It is stuck almost at TDC.

thanks

There is an easy way to get that out. If you have tried soaking and heating with no success then try this. If you have the large plug hole which is 3/8-24 or a small hole which is 1/4-32 get a grease fitting and then get a grease gun and the hydrolic force of the grease will force the piston out. Just take your time and keep a steady pressure on it, it will move I assure you

Good

Idea, I will try that. I just finished looking in my shop, I have alot of grease fittings but not the right size. I will have to buy 1 at the store, then try it. I tell you that is a simple way to do it, but I never thought of. Thanks
