MVVS .46 Good or Bad
I picked a Sig Fazer :D over the weekend that had a MVVS .46 attached to it. I don't know much about these engines. I appears to have a long pipe attached to it instead of a muffler. Are these engines good?
Anybody have one or know much about these? Thanks, Troy |
MVVS .46 Good or Bad
These engines are great, they might be a bit heavy, but their powerful and strong and last for ages.
The long thing is a tuned pipe and gives you more power for more RPM or to swing a bigger prop. If the engine is new you might think its a pig to run, but it needs a long run in period, dont worry about running it rich, it just takes ages for it to settle down, espicialy on bottom end, but once it is, they are lovery. |
MVVS .46 Good or Bad
Hello!
The MVVS engine is a good engine. There is amuffler available for it if you wanr one anf two different tuned pipes, one made for rews from 10.000-14.000(No 3248) and the other made for rews between 16.000 and 24.000 rpm ( No 3246). These pipes are realy cheap and cost only $17.00 each! So if you have the No 3248 pipe which is apr 13cm long you have better use a 10x6-10x7 or 11x6 APC prop to have the engine work okey! If on the other hand you have the shorter pipe made for the 6,5cc Q-500 MVVS engine and high rpm (No 3246 pipe) Then you better use a 9x6,5-9x7 or 9x8 APC prop, but remember that this pipe is made to give high speed to small Q-500 racers or Q-40 pylonracer and is not sutible for ordinare "sport R/C airplanes. You could see some of these engines and planes at my homepage http://hem.passagen.se/airracing Regards! Jan Karlsson Sweden |
