Inverted?

Ok First off I know this is not a gasser, but I have a question that will best be answered in this forum. I have the Sig Extra300XS, and I will be putting the OS 1.60FX on it. I would like to mount it inverted to avoid the head sticking out the side of the cowl. If I run the Perry VP-30 with the engine inverted, and the tank in the stock location, will this work out OK? I have heard horror stories about inverted 2 strokes, and I'm hopping the pump regulator will solve the problem without modifying tank location. If not I guess I'll have a cowl with a head sticking out the side. Thoughts comments?
Thanks Bob

RE: Inverted?

I'm sure some guys will tell you that it will work and maybe it will. I will tell you this. I have a Giant U-Can-Do. I had the 1.60 inverted and didn't even bother with the pump when I had trouble with it flooding and running rich. I didn't want the head sticking out of the side of the cowel either. I decided that it's better to have a dependable engine over the looks. I turned the engine on the side and it runs perfectly with no dead sticks. I also have an Aero Works Giant Profile with a side mounted 1.60 and it runs flawlessly also. I did have a OS .91 with the shaker pump inverted and decided to turn it sideways also. To me it's nothing but a big pain in the neck with the inverted engines. I have had luck with some of the 4 strokes but that's a horse of a different color. Bill
