I have just finished my tower uproar 60 but can not decide on an engine. I am leaning towards the supertiger 90 with a macs tuned pipe. any suggestions?

Go for it. It will be a good combo.

I have a couple G90's. they are good engines.

Why does everyone overpower everything these days?? Uproar 60 means 60 size engines. Otherwise it would be an uproar 90. Doesn't anyone fly on the wing anymore?

on the box it says 60-90 engine.Plus it would be good for 3-d aerobatics and hovering

Sure does seem like lots of folks like MORE power. I have an 17.5 pound warbird with a Saito 180 and APC 17x8 and its just right. Of course I don't 3D the thing and its not a jet.

Aww, let the guy have his fun.....and it does sound like fun. Who follows those instructions anyway???

He can fly on the wing any time he wishes by adjusting the throttle....

I got a supertiger 90 on a funtana 90 and it does a good job the engine is very reliable never had a dead stick[8D]

I hate to burst your bubble, but the control surfaces on the tail of the Uproar are going to limit your 3D capabilities. If you want 3D, it pretty much is in the name of the plane these days. You will need control surfaces that take up about 50% of the stabilizer and rudder with double-beveled edges, (you can always do some surgery). I know, I know, it may hover for a little bit as is, but to really get the control response when the only air moving over the surfaces is from the thrust of the engine, you really need 3D surfaces.

As far as the engine goes, I've had 2 Super Tigre G90's now, (3 if you count the one I had to send back to replace the second) and both ran great... eventually. The first one was perfect right out of the box. The second took a LOT of fidgeting to finally get the low-end happy. The low-end needle is VERY touchy. When they say to adjust it in 1/8" increments, they aren't kidding! Be very patient and follow the break-in procedures in the manual.

I used Master Airscrew 14X6 props on both. With your tuned pipe, you'll get that nice supersonic sound in a dive at full throttle.

People like to trash Super Tigre engines, mostly because they are on the more affordable side of the spectrum. They are not as user-friendly at first, but once you get them dialed in, they'll perform just as well if not better than their expensive competition.

Super Tigres are fine engines. I have two 90's and both run superbly. I believe that for the money they can't be beat. They do take a little breaking in and are a wee bit finicky on the adjustment. But once they are broken in and properly adjusted they are like a well known bunny, they "just keep going and going and going......"
Buy a Super Tigre 60 or 90 and you can't go wrong.
