Evolution 40 Trouble
Hi
I'm very new to this, but I'm having trouble with my Evolution 40 in my Hangar 9 PTS I fuel it up start it no problems, then I can be heading off to fly at full throttle and the motor just cuts out. Go back reignite the glow plug and it fires straight up. Can even get the plane airbourne and after a minute it will just quit again, get it back same thing fires straight up. I've checked the fuel lines everythings seems OK. I checked the high speed setting as per the instruction manual but nothing helps. Can anybody give me some advise,PLEASE |

craig....welcome to R/C Universe....:D
Open the main needle 1/4 turn more (rich) and see if it continues to run without dying out. Usually when an engine quits in flight, it's from leanness and an overheating condition.;) Flyboy Dave. :D |

Thanks I'll try that:)

RE: Evolution 40 Trouble
G'day Craig,
How's Queensland tonight, when you have richened the high speed mixture 1/4 turn, take it to full throttle & hold the plane nose up, it should increase revs slightly, if it doesn't then it is still too lean, richen it some more, until it does, & fly at that setting, that will allow the engine to unload in the air & still have enough fuel supply to keep running, talk to someone at your club & get them to explain about how engines unload in the air. |
RE: Evolution 40 Trouble
Thanks Alan
I'll give that a try tomorrow:) |
