~Evolution 61NT engine feedback needed~
 

Maybe this engine is a good fit for a Seagull PC9 Pilatus that i will buy.
Also,
i saw that Horizon mentions a 13000rpm with an 12x7 prop.
Is this true ?
What prop do you use and what rpm do you get?
Do you have some pics to see?

I don't know about RPM's, etc., but I do know that my .61 pulls my Hangar 9 Alpha 60, WS 70 1/2" very nicely. I took off the 3 bladed prop
that come on the trainer and I am now using a 11 x 7 APC and it pulls it even better.

This I can say, It is one of the most dependable engines I've seen and rarely needs re-tuning at all.

I have about 5 gallons tru mine, to date. No trouble at all.

Kostas, I've set one of these up for a guy.

Firstly, the adjustment limiting collar for the low speed adjustment was set wrongly, not permittting the adjustment to be made sufficiently lean. Once this was sorted out, the engine was easy to tune and settled into a nice 2000-2200 rpm idle and good transition. It's pretty quiet too with its stock muffler, which is a good thing.

Its power was OK but not outstanding. It pulled about 11,300 rpm on an APC 12x6 and about 12,200 on an APC 11x7. It's not even going to get close to 13000 with a 12x7. That's Jett .90 territory!

The engine has been otherwise reliable and has delivered good service to its owner.

I have a 61 on my tiger 60 with a apc 12-6 does a good job, I bought the engine second hand here on rc sale's,put it on the tiger and set it up and havent touched it since. Plenty of power and easy starts.

Actually, they mention 13000 rpm with 11x7, not 12x7.

These Evo engines have prooven to be pretty nice engines so far. Reliable, run well, good power. They also respond to a tuned exhaust system nicely.

Considering what an old K&B .61, OS61 FSR, OS61FX and similar engines historically run like turning an 11x7 - 12x6 prop, on a stock muffler, the Evo .61 seems to be right up there.
