OS .32SX-H Problems

...went to fly the chopper. I was warming it up at half throttle (which has about 0 pitch, for those heli gurus) and brought it closer to me. Upon taking off from the driveway, it kinda hesitated. I let it warm up for a couple more seconds and hovered in front for a while.

After about a min. of hovering the rev's really high. Higher than normal.

Anwyays, in the end it cut off. I wasn't that high so everything was good with the chopper. I went to crank it again and it sounded like the throttle was more open than usual (the sound it makes when you prime it).

So, I prime it (actually opening the throttle on the TX) and when it cranked up it revved really high and cut right back off.

I have already:
1) Checked the plug (its good; glowing fine; nothing bent)
2) Checked the themperature (it was a bit hot)

I have been using this as an aerial platform so I had it about 5 clicks richer than I usually fly without my camera. I remember leaning it out but only 3 clicks to see what would happen thinking in the cold weather it could be ran a little leaner.

So are there any ideas?

Sorry there was so much explaining, but I wanted to give as much possible information.

Thanks so much

EDIT: I think I'm going electric.................

You need to go richer in cold weather

Okey Dokey.

Well I will keep it rich. It seems to run better anyways.

Well thanks for the advice

RE: OS .32SX-H Problems

iflynething,

Have you sorted out your problem yet.

I had a similar problem recently. Cleaned the carb, replaced the fuel lines. Checked the fuel for contamination, none seen.

Still same problem.

It ended up been water in the fuel. You could see small balls in the bottom of my fuel container. Checked the heli fuel tank, same.

Ive since adjusted the fuel pickup in my fuel jug to position off the bottom, so it cannot suck out these water balls. When the fuel is nearly empty, you can check the fuel then and use it if it looks OK. Otherwise keep it for cleaning.

Well I checked for any leaks and still doing the same problem.

Now that you mention the water I think that might be the problem. I have seen droplets inside the jug so I'm sure they have went down into the fuel.

But thanks for mentioning that. Luckily enough I don't have that much fuel left so I might have to toss it or just do like you did that take the pickup off the bottom.

Thanks again

~Michael~
