Good luck selling it. It isnt what its worth so much but finding someone who wants it. I sold my 180moki for 100 it ran perfect but nobody wants big glow motors nowdays.

You could convert it to gas, or run it with 1/3 nitro fuel and the rest gas. If you convert it to gas you need to buy a plug and a electronic ignition for about $50. To make it run on a nitro/gas mix search Youtube.

Please do.

It sounds like all this big Moki is good for is a door stop. It's a good looking engine but with nitro over $25 a gallon it will be put on the shelf and awed at once in a while. Thanks for the help, Dave

You could also get a CH-Ignitions spark ignition conversion for it too. Then make a carb adapter and put on a Walbro carb or maybe a carb for a DLE-30 for example. Then you could run gasoline in it or put the glow carb on and run glow fuel.

Moki's don't need nitro anyway. They're not designed to use more than 5% I believe. A simple methanol and oil mix would be super cheap. It will still burn some fuel but less than if you use nitro. I'd like to know where a guy can get pure nitro for $25/gal.

1QwkSport2.5r, I should have said glow fuel instead of nitro. My bad! I bought a GP Patty Wagstaff Extra 300 and it came with a new Moki 210 but I prefer gas rather than glow engines. I have no interest in glow engine. What I can see is that large glow engines are a thing of the past.

Practically speaking this is true, but there are still a lot of people who like big glow engines just because they like 'em. I bought two 2.10's off the classifieds last year, looking forward to flying them big time.

And you can almost afford to fly them if you keep the nitro % zero or really low.

airraptor 05-16-2014 12:21 PM

they will sell start out around 250 for price. Once you go moki you will not want any other. The 2.10 sounds so damn good at idle.

1QwkSport2.5r 05-16-2014 01:11 PM

Yeah I was gonna say, glow fuel premix is around $32/gal for 5%. I'd been paying $55/gal for straight nitro with free shipping.

MJD 05-16-2014 01:45 PM

I have an old Stinger 120 kit that begs for one of them. The other needs to go in an overpowered warbird ARF.

airraptor 05-16-2014 03:12 PM

If you are paying 32 dollars for 5% fuel then you are getting ripped off big time. our LHSs around sell that for 15-17 dollars a gallon. I can get 30% for that price

I have three Moki's[2 210's and a 180].They are great engines. They use O nitro and the cost per GL here from the LHS is just under 10.00 if you buy a 4 pack.Been flying them for about 12 yrs.Just bought my first gas [DLA 58CC] that is in my TFGS Corsair.

$32 for a gallon glow fuel? Man somebody is gouging the heck out of people there. Here a gallon of 5% goes for something like $14.00.

I took this pic a couple of years ago, showing FAI, 5%, 10%, and 15% glow fuel gallon containers and their prices at the time.

1QwkSport2.5r 05-16-2014 06:20 PM

Y'all gotta realize, the stuff is $12-14/gal plus $10-15/4-gal case UPS shipping and $25/4-gal case hazmat shipping fee. Add markup and 7.25% sales tax to that and the fact only one shop in my area caries 5% fuel. Yeah it's a ripoff. That's why I don't buy it and mix my own. I can make a gallon of 5% fuel for about $6-8 depending on what oil I use. We got on this subject due to a wording error so ultimately it's all moot. I do not pay retail fuel price and never will again. 30% car fuel is almost $40/gal!

Just wondering if you pump any of your Moki's and what mufflers do you use. I love moki's.
