.45 supertigre problem
Yet another engine issue, you would think I would throw in the towel by now! I broke the base of the carb when a tree grabbed my plane on the first flight with my new supertigre .45. Since then I have JB Welded the carb in place and welded around the needle valve base as well, it was a little loose and when I took it apart the needle was actually a little bit bent. I straightened everything and sealed all possible leaks with JB Weld. The engine blubbers as I advance to full throttle and occasionally does the same when if I try aggressive maneuvers (loops, ets.). Is this thing salvageable or do I need to get a grip and just toss it?

Tower doesn't have any carbs or bodies right now. They say March I think? Might be time for a Perry until times get better? As cold as the weather is, you might just hold on to what you got until you can get one?

.45 supertigre problem
Perry carbs are made from a hard black plastic. They are made simular to an HB carb or least there seems to be some inter relationship there.
The high speed needle and the idle disk are both on the same side of the carb. They've been around since back in the late 60's anyway. They were the first real successful R/C carb. They are still around. I think they are made by Conley Precision Products now? You cannot get ones to fit Supertigers from Tower. I'll try to find the URL if someone doesn't beat me to it? .45 supertigre problem
Some years ago Jerry Conley of Conley Precision Products bought the Perry rights from Varsane. He's always at the Toledo show and is a interesting fellow to talk to. He has A viper model engine as well as a 350 Chevy that he runs at his show to get attention for his products.
Click on the URL above and you will see who owns Perry. Jim |

Yep, I'm very familiar with Conely's engines.
I sit corrected on the pumps and carbs. John |
