Russell has a magnum GP .40 engine, he can't get the piston rod to disconnect from the crankshaft, Is there some trick to get the rod off the crankshaft?

pull the liner out first then you will have enough play to remove the con rod from the crankpin.

Yup, that's what I did. I just had mine apart for some love.
