It may be that the prop is too small. I'm running an APC 11X7 on a TT 54 four stroke... perfect combo. I realize you're still breaking it in but I'm thinking a 12X6 or 8 might be a better choice.
You're right. A Saito 72 will turn a 13x6 very nicely so I suspect that if (as claimed) the TT75 has as much or more power, you really ought to be looking at a 14x4 (for slow 3D stuff) down to a 12x8 for faster planes.

There's no particular reason to assume that the TT F75-s is designed to spin larger props like the Saito 4-strokes are. The recommended break-in prop for my TT F91-s was an 11x10 while my Magnum XL .70 RFS and my Saito .72 both recommend 13x6 props for break in. Thunder Tiger 4-strokes have traditionally run best at a slightly higher peak than O.S. or Saito 4-strokes. Breaking in a TT F75-s with a 12x6 or even an 11x7 prop and then taching the results might be a good idea. Light loading and higher rpms during break-in should result in a quicker break-in process.

instead of putting it in the Expo 3D ive decided to put it in a tiger moth I have, ive got a 12x9 and a 12x4 prop, so ill finnish the moth off and see what it runs best on, hopfully i can get the tank below the spray bar, typical inverted engine mounting.

isamike, while a 12x4 might be fine on a .40 size four stroke, I don't think I'd try one on a .75. It couldn't do a .75 any good. A 12x9 sounds about right.

I had several flights over the weekend with the .75. The prop was an APC 11 X 7 which is not enough prop. It turned around 10,200 rpms. I hope to get a 13 X 6 or 7 APC and try again later in the week. The engine seems to be running quite well.

Can you verify the weight with muffler?

Thanks,
Dave

I ran the .75 with an APC 13 X 6 prop, and got about 9850 to 9900 rpms, and was really pleased with the performance. I also have an APC 13 X 7 which I will try (weather permitting) this weekend. As I recall, the engine weighs about 17 ounces.

Today I ran the engine with an APC 13 X 7, and it turned around 8850 to 8900 rpms. I think I will stick with the 13 X 6 (which turned at around 9850 to 9900 rpms).
