stuck carb

Hi Guys
I know that this question has been asked before but i can't get the search function fo find what i want and i can't remember the fix for it. I aquired an os 46fx engine that hasn't been run for probabley 1-2 years. The carb is totally jammed (castor?). How do you fix this.

Thanks
Cameron

Soak it in fresh fuel and use a hair dryer or covering gun on it.

If the above replies don't work, try cooking the carb in an old crock pot with glycol antifreeze for a few hours.
Remove all rubber and plastic parts before heating.as the glycol mar ruin them.
NOTE!!! Do not use the pot for food again.as glycol is very poisonous.

RE: stuck carb

I have bought engines off *bay which were totally gummed up and couldn't be moved at all. They hadn't been used for years, in some cases 10 years or more.

One minute, or less, carefull application of a heat gun melted the goo and allowed the engine to turn and the carb to move. A bit of fresh fuel flipped through it and then a quick run usually sees the engine working again.

This has worked on several engines now and is accomplished in a minute or less.
