hi anyone can help me where to find one of these reduction systems?
are there other brands that made similiar products?
i am trying to fin a solution fir starting engines over 3cu

Miller is not on the web and have no web site

The Sullivan Megatron can be rigged up with Miller products. You cn even get them already modified from Sullivan themselves

is there a whay to get only the reduction system and atache it on a ordinary starter?

I heard that Mac Hodges has the Miller reducers in his hobby shop for $125 USD. You will have to Email him.

Call Hap Miller...he's a great guy and you can get the basic set up and use your own starter. The best starter is the Miller reduction setup with the Sullivan Dynatron starter...on 24 volts it would start your truck.

The one in the picture came set up as a 4 to 1 ratio but I ordered an extra pulley and it is now in the range of 3.5 to 1. It didn't turn my Maloney 125 fast enough to make a spark at 4 t0 1 but does so quickly now. I hardly need it now though, I sold all my gas engines except for a new Quadra 35, (several years old but new), I converted the Maloney 125 and Tartan 1.34 to Diesels so the starter just lays around.

My mistake, sorta. I read where W8YE was talking about Mac Hodge's in his Miller reduction gear comment. Anyway, Mac's is a great place to shop as he stocks a lot and has very good prices.

Hello. I am wondering if any of you guys using the Miller Persuader can give some suggestions on installing a switch. It appears that as is, this would be a two-handed set up, so one would need an assistant to hold the airplane, unless another switch is placed on the Miller handle. I have some ideas on it, but maybe someone has a better one. Post a photo if possible. Thanks.

I have a Miller mounted on a Dynatron starter and it is a two man affair

Remove the strip switch from the sullivan dynatron and mount it to the miller handle with nylon tie wraps on the ends. You can remove the plastic switch holder from the front of starter to clean things up. I have built three this way and they all work well with one hand. Run the switch wires to the back of the starter motor using the original strip switch holder slot on the rear motor cover.

The Miller Dynatron unit does not have to be a two hand affair. I have one that I put together that I have been using for over 10 years and it is a one hand operation that is easy to use and will start anything from a 20cc to over 150cc engine. [img][/img]
First, I join two 12 volt 7 amp. gell cell batteries with a couple of strips of thin double sided tape. Then using double sided tape, I mount two 2 1/2" muffler clamps on top of the batteries. I slit fuel tubing and put over the edges of the clamps to protect the starter. I then strap the starter to the batteries with a couple of large plastic tie wraps. But before mounting the starter, I remove the strip switch and add wire to connect to the added switch and bracket. This places the push button switch conveniently under your thumb for easy one hand use. And then wire in series for 24 volts. I sell the switch and bracket for $20. The Miller reduction unit is $125. I sell the complete starter for $275.

I went ahead and ordered the Persuader from Miller R/C Products. Hap's wife took my order, and she claims the Persuader will crank anything up to and including a Zenoah G-62 on 12 volts! I'm using a 12 volt, 18 amp motorcycle battery, so I guess it wll crank my lowly OS 1.60, my G-26, or the DA-50 I plan to get this winter. Thanks for the input from everyone.

I just bought it this past April at the Toledo Show. He said that I would need to rig up a 24V battery, but I figured a 12V would turn over my Moki 2.10. It didnt come close. I even tried my car battery. I then rigged up two of the 7amp 12V and it came alive. Its like night and day between the 12 and 24V batteries. Oh...I have the Sullivan Dynatron.

From what I understand about batteries and R/C starters is that the amperage is as important as the voltage, possibly moreso. With my Sullivan Dynatron I used to use the standard 12 v. 7 amp Hobbico battery, and it was a dog on engines bigger than a 2-cycle .60 or .90. When I went to a 12 v., 18 amp MC battery, it released awesome power! I'll try this first with Miller's Persauder. If it doesn't work then I'll add another battery in series to get the 24 volts.

By the way, does anyone know where to get a compact-sized 24 volt battery? I know they sell them for full scale aircraft, bu they are a bit big and heavy.
