Carb settings at elevation
How do I set up my glo engines for higher elevation[ 3000']? Should I richen both the low and high needles?
Thanks KRC |

Just tune them exactly as you would at sea level. If the engine was previously tuned correctly at sea level then you'll need to go slightly leaner on both needles (less air needs less fuel).

Step up the nitro a bit and you'll essentially be retuned for the higher elevation...
Thinner air... less fuel needed. More nitro... more fuel needed. And the added nitro will bring the power up closer to what you are used to. Also... don't pull up as sharply as normal, the thinner air will make you need a little more time to build speed. Once the plane is up to speed.. you may not see much difference in performance. (depends on weather... hot day and you'll REALLY see a performance drop.) |

Thanks AMA 506771, that is what I was looking for.
