ultimate bipe engine question

i am building and rebuilding a dave patrick ultimate arf, the fellow at the hobby shop talked me out of an inverted mount so i mounted sideways. Now my fuel tank centerline is an inch below my centerline on the carb of my saito 56. Will this run into problems with rich/lean runs?? He wanted me to carve out the cross bracing ply and raise the tank, but the struts for mounting the wing are there so it doesnt look like a good idea. Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks, George

....it won't make any difference as long as you have the stock muffler pressure to the tank. ;)

FBD. :D

You could use the uniflow tank setup, that should help.

Thanks guy's, the uniflow looks like the thing. I was considering the header tank earlier, but did not know what it was called. Now that i read the uniflow article, i like it!
Thanks again, George

Hello; The only "Dave Patrick" ultimate I've ever seen had an OS 120 in it, the owner said it didn't have enough power and was going toput a TS 155 in it to power it properly. I don't think that your OS 56 will have much of a chance even though we all know what wonderful engines they are.

I assumed he had a 40 sized version?

RE: ultimate bipe engine question

Oh; ( drr slap my forehead) i forgot to list that it is a 40 size. Ha. I have had so many problems putting this thing together, i am wishing i had not bought it. Not to mention the hobby shop neglected to tell me patrick is out of business, and i have no support or warranty on a new ARF !
Anyway, I bought another plane that they had and am trying to find info on that too, please see ( powerline hobbies edge 540 vs ST 3250) , could use some help there too.
Thanks to all, George
