fourstar engine

Hey guys. I'm thinking about purchasing a four star 120 to build this winter. I'm a 4 stroke fan and have always had os engines. But I hear alot about saito engines as well. What would u guys recommend for the fourstar. I need good power. My runway is rough and short. Thanks alot.

I take it that you are at around 7,000 ft elevation?

Even though the Four Star is very versatile, considering your altitude, runway and wind situation, I would use a Saito 150 or 180.

The 180 would give you more versatility in the long run with other airplane adventures.

That 180 saito looks to be a good choice. One thing I never thought about was a gasser. With the price of glow fuel that might be a good option. I love the four strokes but I bet the bigger ones suck down the fuel.

the 180 uses a lot of fuel.

The Four Star could use a gasser in the 25-30cc range

A g-26 zenoah would be a good choice for a small gas engine. Mine was very close in power to a saito 150 swinging a apc 17X8. The 4 star 120 has a light wing loading and is as forgiving as a trainer, but much more aerobatic.
