K&B Ringed .61
Last weekend I bought a box of old engines at an R/C auction and one of them is a K&B baffle piston .61 R/C engine. I soaked it in glow fuel and now it turns over "OK". What kind of RPM can I expect from this engine? Is a APC 11x7 an OK prop size?
Thanks Francis |
RE: K&B Ringed .61
I used to have several of these. You should get around 13500 with that prop. That's what mine would do.

RE: K&B Ringed .61
....you'll get around 12 thousand revs with that prop. ;)

Thanks,
This engine is quite light I bet I could overpower a .46 sized plane? Hope the ring is not stuck. Francis |
RE: K&B Ringed .61
Mine gets about 12,500 with most 11x7's. The pdp version will get almost 1000 more.

mine standard, 12K rpm too..
excellent engine... very good power for a not schneurle type,.. I used mine in a Piper Clipped for .40 engine without problems of heavy nose.. |

....the K&B .61 is the perfect power plant for 40-46 size planes.
I have one in a Ultra Stick 40. An 11-7 1/2 Master Airscrew is great on the .61's. ;) FBD. :D |
