YS engine disasembly?

I need to replace a crank shaft in an older ys 120 engine that I have. does anyone have a link for directions on how to go about doing this. I am a mechanic my trade so I dont think it would be too hard but I just need some directions so I dont screw anything up.
thanks
Jeff

You will have to copy and paste this link into your address bar to get it to work. The RCUniverse editor cuts off part off the link at the "|" Copy the whole link!

The Y-S engine had a separate seal behind the front bearing that also should be replaced when changing bearings

I think I need someone to translate this translation to a more easily comprehensible form... Chinese, maybe? Swahili?[sm=confused.gif]

What seems to be the problem with it?

It appears in perfect English if you copy and paste the entire link into your address bar. Ignore the underlined part.

Here's the original link. Translate it yourself to what ever language you need?

Jim,

Phrases like these:

Thursday hold thickness of 0.1 to 1.0 mm available in car
a little dough roam very fine which is available in the automotive specialists
bomb or givrant refrigerant that is on the shelves of electronics stores

Dismantle:
- the candle without losing his honor

- the needle after precisely counted the number of towers and part-turn from his position until complete closure.
- The closure will be achieved without unduly tighten, on pain of the needle mark of punch.

Position vilbrequin...
...who switch culbuteurs of charge...

How many times have you seen the word 'vilbrequin' in RCU?

Removing the yoke of a 4-stroke engine...
dismount the door beforehand Dumper...

Need I supply more examples???

Yup! I think it would have been more comprehensible in Swahili, or in traditional Chinese...

RE: YS engine disasembly?

vilbrequin is misspelled in French. There is an "E" missing. He meant the crankshaft or camshaft

Culbuteurs are the rocker arms

Jim,

What I am actually saying is that the 'Google Translation Utility' does not do a very good job of translating whole sentences...

It may translate each and every word correctly, but not necessarily in the correct context, or into the popular spoken form...

I have studied French in High School and can understand both the original web site and what was meant in the translation.
But there are many that would need a thesaurus to understand this passage...

In the mean time, why don't you get your 'Thursday hold thickness', to adjust the valve lash in your Saito...:D

w8ye, now don't get yourself in a tither, but I too had problems with the foreign link and the two Youtube links are for a two-stroke. Isn't the original question about a four-stroke? I have disassembled two strokes before, but not yet a four-stroke. I just afraid of what will fall out in the valve cam area or that I will not get it back in properly aligned for the valve timing.

RE: YS engine disasembly?

On your Y-S adjust the valves .002 -.004" The cam timing is with the mark on the cam in line with the push rods with the engine at top dead center

I was able to get it apart today. Really wasnt to bad. I kindof learned as I went. Everything looked good exept for the bent crank. They dont like to hit the ground too well from 50 ft. It looked like more of a job then I thought. The only thing that had me thinking for awhile was getting the connecting rod off the crank until I figured you had to remove the wrist pin out the side of the cylinder. Is central hobbies probably the best place to get parts from?

Here is an RCU link to a thread where a guy repairs bent cranks for free, I believe. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_69..._1/key_/tm.htm
