UEDA 55 Value
I have a UEDA 55 twin glow plug engine that I am considering trying to trade for a 4 stroke engine. The UEDA looks as if it has never been run. It may have been mounted. The only thing I can see wrong is that the idle bar is missing. It may of had a strap on muffler. Anyway, I was wondering if someone could give me some type of idea what it might be worth. I am sure only a collector would want it. Thanks.

RE: UEDA 55 Value
The UEDA engines were in the late 60's and were not very successful and in the end not very popular and just faded away.

RE: UEDA 55 Value
Probably the best thing to do is put it on the auction site and state truthfully that it is a rare collectors item. I found a statement on RC Universe where one was up to $200 in the auction. I looked over there and it was too long ago and it had been removed from the data base. |

PM him or Email him at that Email address he posted. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_39.../tm.htm#393297 kamakazie frank The worst engine, again early 70's, I ever owned was a Ueda 60. They should have named it "U-needa-new-60". What a joke. kdheath On a side note, one of my buddies turned up one day with a Magician and a Ueda 40. First Ueda I ever saw outside of a magazine ad. I think they probably imported about six of these motors in the 60's. It had a venturi the size of a storm drain. Would hardly run. We went to the trash barrel, ripped a balsa stick from a wreck, whittled it a little and stuffed it in that huge venturi. Suddenly, he was flying the pattern with it! You just never know.... Sport_Pilot The Ueda engines were good

I have only seen two running, and both performed poorly. Damnathius Oh, and then there's the Ueda .61 with the red anodized dual plug head... What a heavy boat anchor that is! |
RE: UEDA 55 Value
Had a Ueda 45 in the good ole days.Engine had an exhaust restrictor and airbleed carb if I recall. The engine was eventually bored out to a Ueda 55 with a single plug which eventually led to a twin plug version..Calling it a powerhouse was really stretching it, even the bored out 55. It was what I would call an OS appreciation engine! Got an OS max50 and never looked back.
