Gemini vs. Gemini II
Can someone explain the difference between the OS FT 120 Gemini and the Gemini 120 FT II? Also, how do you physically tell the difference.
Thanks, Bill |
Gemini vs. Gemini II
The 120 II is an upgraded version of the FT 120 and has considerably more power than the original. It has the letters FT 120 II embossed on the right hand side of the front case.

Another question.
Is there a pressure feed for the fuel system? If not, what must be done.
Also, are there exhaust extensions available. Thanks |
Gemini vs. Gemini II
The flexible exhaust system is the same as used on an OS91 fs. I now use the standard mufflers from 91's. Pressure on the fuel tank comes from one muffler.
You can also use it without the pressure on the tank. I didn't encounter any problems this way on a Goldberg Ultimate. Vincent |

RE: Gemini vs. Gemini II
Are the parts interchangable? Like the p[istons, pushrods, valves, crankcase, backplate etc...
|
RE: Gemini vs. Gemini II
Not much is the same between the 2 engines.

RE: Gemini vs. Gemini II
Hi Bill,
I have been wondering myself if the parts are interchangable as parts for Gemini II are mostly found on Tower Hobbies web page. I cracked up my engine and need a crankcase, backplate and a valve lifter and tube all of which are available except for the backplate.Any clue where I can find that part? TheGemini I have is 30 years old/new but never ran it, it started up right away a few months ago. Broke it in and used it for probably 30 minutes then KABOOM crashed the plane wh some damage to the engine whih I would like to resurect. Any help in resurect the Phoenix would be appreciated. RE: Gemini vs. Gemini II
Parts for the O.S. FT-120 Gemini are not interchangeable with the O.S. FT-120 Gemini II. They are significantly-different in design. That's because the FT-120-II was designed to have quite a bit of commonality with the FT-160. Perhaps some of the screws fromone engine will work in the other, but nothing else. You'd have to find a "parts" engine somewhere to get your engine repaired.
