Need Engine for 60 Size pattern plane

Which engine do you recommend for a 60 size pattern plane..

91 FS

Try an OS 91 Pumped Four stroke. We have one in my son's Kaos with a 13x9 APC prop. Great combination. Pete

What plane is it? :) something like an older pattern design that calls for a classic rear-exhaust 61?

Try a Rossi 61 RE (I have 2 of them, strong engines)... or a YS 61 RE... or a OS 61 Hanno Special, if you can find one...

it doesn't require a reaer exhaust. The plane is a L&R Airtrax 60 size.

How about a O.S 61FX ? that's a good engine isn't it?

OS 91 Surpass 4-stroke

I would recomend a good 90-91 4-stroke for just about any 60 size ship pattern or otherwise. I have a brand new one on E-bay if your interested check this link:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=1718238845

If you wish to buy it directly, I am asking $250.00 for it and I will cover shippping (within US).

Thanks.

I built a Ultra Sport 60 last year and installed a OS 91 Surpass. Still haven't flown it. I have a SIG King Kobra with a ST 61 ABC. I had a Cutlass pattern plane till about 1996 or 97 and it had a ST 61 ring. I guess you can't go wrong putting a moderatly powerful 60 size engine in a 60 size pattern plane.

Must be the Airemax? Well personally at 7 Lbs a YS 91FZ would be gr8 4 stroke in there. 2 Stroke back on my Phoenix 8 I had an HB 61 Piped in the 88 Nationals Even made the Magazine that year with it gr8 reliable motor.

Basically Pete any Quality 61 Piped would work just fine at that weight as well any of the 91 4strokes will do fine. I'm going to throw up now but the Saito 100 being 550 g's would be nice as well.

Bottom line it's going to be your final decision that your going to please and no one else.

I know Ben;
Your watching these posts way to closely LOL

Or for cheap....

If you need a quick, cheap engine, Go for a used YS 61 long stroke two stroke engine. Its got the YS fuel injection, and is very powerful for its size. I had the rear exthaust one in a 60 size Desire pattern plane with Hatori pipe, and was an awesome flier! I would recommend YS for any performance applictation.

As for Saito? Save that for a Piper Cub :p

Good luck:D
