Default looking for Chester Jeep or peashooter

Hi everyone

I am kind of new to the RC airplane hobby I have been building wood boats for years mostly sterling Chris Craft stuff now that I am building planes my taste is running toward older style air planes

So I am looking for some older style kits I have built and fly a Page GEE BEE Z that I am very pleased with

I would like to build a Chester Jeep and a Peashooter if you know which kits build and fly best please tell me

Also I would like to buy a kit if anyone is selling one in a 40-60size

THANKS A BUNCH!
Don

Hi Don,
A Jeep plan is in latest Model Aviation mag.
You say "Peashooter" which is unknown to me.
dmeco had a "P-Shooter" which was an excellent performing
quick build kit.
Dmeco plans are available from>

Default AMA MAG

HI

I saw that plan it looks very easy to build it is a CL plane but I was thinking if I scaled it up I could make it a RC model
Do you think that would work?
It is very easy for me to do I do it with boat plans all the time on my computer
Does anyone know anthing about the coverite kit??

Thanks again
Don

Default Jeep and Peashooter Plans source

Hi Don;

Greetings from the 'Valley of the Sun'.

Hal is correct above.

On checking my archives I found the following:

An Art Chester Jeep published in RCM, 4/79 issue, plan # 758, by Col. John deVries. ws 62 " for 60 power. I am not sure if this is the same one kitted by Coverite.

A Peashooter was published in MAN, 8/87 issue, plan # FSP08871, by Henry Haffke. ws 56" for 40 power, and I am almost sure that this design was kitted by Coverite.

Hoping this info is of help to you, best regards from sunny and real hot Phoenix,

Joe Nagy.

If you want a kit of the Jeep, Spirit of Yesteryear in Canada took over the Coverite line. Thought I had it bookmarked but I don't see it--do a search. Someone said these new kits are better than the old Coverite ones. Span is 56 inches, designed for a .40. I saw a model built from one and it was a beauty.

"Peashooter" was the nickname for the Boeing P-26. Haffke had a .40 size sport model which he gave a similar color scheme and called a Peashooter, but it doesn't look anything like a P-26. I don't think there are any .40 kits of the P-26, but I believe Flair makes a giant scale one. Jim

If you're looking for a true P-26, try Hobbybarn.com
They have the old Royal line of scale kits now being imported as the Maratuka Line.
