I just acquired some vintage catalogs and pamphlets like tower hobbies catalogs from the early '80s, an Orbit R/C instruction book 1979 Hobby Lobby catalog and a bunch more. Is there any value in these materials?

Yes.
That's what that famous auction site is for.
I would recommend you bundle them in packages of four to six items along some type of theme. Start with a low ante and no reserve. Be sure and cover your shipping.
