Default Wanted - information on Kraft 61 engines

I'm on a bit of a nostalgia kick. We're the Kraft 61's good engines for their time? Any strengths/weaknesses?
thanks,
Steve G

I had a used one back in the late '70's and flew it for several years. I think they were very well made for the era and they ran strong. Mine just wasn't made strong enough to shake hands with a huge rock ! The Kraft engine line was bought by mecoa and you can still get a lot of parts for them. http://www.mecoa.com/rjl/k61/k61-parts.htm

Steve,

Here's one of two reviews. You can also ask in the Classic Pattern forum here or RCGroups.

Default kraft 61

hi steve
very good reliable engines, have a 61 stock and a 61 with perry carb and pump.
very happy with both, you wonlllll't be disappointed.
much better than the later sleaved engines, the 40 and the 60 were junk. lost two planes using the 40
before I realiazed, hey don't use this engine, trash it.

good luck and happy flying
