I'm restoring my Kraft Gold Series KP-6B system and am looking for a rf output meter. Range is 1ma, hole size is 11/4 x 5/8 inches. So far my searches have come up blank. Anyone know a source?
Thanks - John

Don't know where you live but someone is always selling old Kraft radios at flea markets. Lebanon in next week and I bet I have seen various models for sale virtually every year there. There still may be some of the old authorized Kraft repair shops still in existence like Kraft South. If I see something in the ads of the back of Model Airplane News I will let you know. But hopefully, someone will see your post and know exactly who a supplier is. Good luck on the restore. My Series 74 was always my favorite radio. Just don't make them like they used to

My Feedback: (19)

I have (3) new ones in my stock but sorry (tease, tease) not for sale. I could probably come up with a slightly less than perfect used one though. When I repaired radio equipment many, many moons ago, I use to replace the meter in about every 3rd or 4th transmitter that came in. Chemicals like window cleaner used to clean the transmitter would make the plastic meter housing brittle and they would crack and fall apart, sometimes falling back into the transmitter. Not all things were better "back in the day"!

Click this link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-mini...UAAMXQ01tRN6Lh or this link:

you can open the meter and swap out the dial face for the one in yours.

I still have my first Kraft Sport 5 1974. I broke the meter face in 1990's and learned it was a Perkaskie (i think) meter with proprietary Kraft wire wind. You can only use the Kraft meter.
i bet old kraft metal box transmitters one can buy on ebay will have the right meter.
Pete Waters Kraft Midwest had the meters, i belive Pete retired and someone purchased his inventory. Find that person or maybe an electrons guro Eloy Marez has em. Mr Marez advertizes older radios converted to 2.4

Hi John,
I have that meter in a Kraft parts transmitter. The meter looks like new.
You can have it for the cost of shipping.

They were made by Electro-Mechanical Corperation of Perkasie Pa. Almost every radio made in the USA from 1960 to 1978 used these meters, with the exception of some of the cheaper models which used inexpensive imported micro VU meters from tape recorders, and had a simple red and green scale. Cannon, and Ace R/C used these cheapo meters.

Hi John,
Sorry to hear about your hospital stay, I hope all is OK now.
I would gladly send you the meter but the lowest cost shipping from Canada I can get is $8.00 US.
In a previous post, Sid Gates offered to sell you a meter for a total of $7.50. Not only does he live in the US but his offer is slightly cheaper so this may be the way you should go,
I would not be offended in the least if you took his offer, just let me know what you decide.

Oops John, sorry... it shows how awake I am. For some reason I read Oregon, go figure!
Postal rates across Canada vary so much and tend to be more expensive than shipping to the US.
I will check the rate and let you know what the Canada Post Pirates want.

Hi John,
Those CP crooks want $12.44 for the shipment and this is as low as they will go.
Would there be anything else out of my Series 71 parts transmitter that you could use?

Hi John,
I removed the meter from the case and upon examination found that the 40 year old plastic was showing its age. There are internal stress cracks along the top ridge, but these are only noticeable when the light is just right. There is also a small surface crack at one corner which could be fixed with some thin CA (see photo).
It is possible that Sid's may not have these flaws... otherwise the meter works and measures fairly accurately.
I became interested in your restoration project since I too have a restored and working Kraft KP-6B
