After four months finally finished a 'new' Junior 60! Except for the finish I built it exactly like the one I built in 1967.including the obscene dihedral. The covering is ultralcote transparent white and the trim is Rustoleum red which is fuel proof. The engine is my trusty gold Saito .30. My original flew with a Max .19. My new one is beefed up a bit at 60 oz, but a little extra weight doesn't these birds. I am anxious to test fly but can't get to the field for a week or two. I will report on 'maiden' when that happens..Sorry - couldn't make images smaller!...JT

That "obscene dihedral" is just right. It makes the airplane talk to you when it goes through a thermal. Watch it carefully and you will see the wings bobble when you hit a thermal.

I said that I would report how the maiden flight went. We made it to the field about a week and a half ago on beautiful sunny day that also happened to be the annual club 'fun-fly' day. I had some doubts re the little Saito .30 four stroke having enough oomph. My fears were unfounded. Upon application of power she only rolled about forty feet and was sky-bound! Full throttle definitely not required; one third throttle and about 4 clicks of down elevator had the bird flying level and steady. Low fly-by's with the little four stroke putting along were wonderful see and hear. Yes, she fly's like any Junioir 60 and the way I remember my first one way nack in '67'!
I wish I had some means to video the maiden - sorry. I will try to attach some images of that day.
