Can Nitrocellulose guitar lacquer be used instead of dope for applying silk to a model ?

You can use it to adhere silk but I wouldn't because it'e not fuel proof and if you use it ON the fabric it can crack and craze since there's no plasticizer.in it. Use nitrate or butyrate dope to adhere the silk but only butyrate top coats.
