Kwik-Fli ailerons - use barn door?
Would you guys change the barn door ailerons to strip ailerons on a Kwik-Fli III ? My concern here is that the use of the barn door ailerons precludes wing tips. Full size planes with outboard ailerons always use wingtips. What about those wing tip vortices?

On my first Kwik Fli III taper wing I used 2” wide strip ailerons and the one I’m building now has 1 ½" wide strips. All the details are at http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/Howa...2434444/tm.htm

RE: Kwik-Fli ailerons - use barn door?
My Kwik-Fli had the barndoor type ailerons and outboard tips pretty much per the original plan except each aileron was operated by its own servo - std. Futaba S 148. From memory, the ailerons had a deep wedge-section - I sold the model last year.
The aerobatic performance was very sweet, very similar to the similar sized scratchbuilt, with strip ailerons, shown alongside in the attached picture. Both models were fitted with OS 46FX engines.
Don`t get too bogged down with theory........
