My Newest hangar addition
I just finished up a Sr Falcon (no, not the ARF) from Early RC Models. It is outfitted with JR radio and an Enya .50 CX. This is the eigth vintage design I've built. All have been Early RC Models kits and I've had a ball with each. You vintage r/c fellas really know what makes a fine airplane! Too bad we are losing so many of the designers whose creations we enjoy so much.

If you think that you want one of EarlyRC's kits, just buy it. I have my second one on the way and can't say enough good things about Bob Harris and how nice his kits are. He is also one the few RCers around who flies single channel.

I agree[sm=thumbup.gif]
I just purchased one of his DeBolt Champ kits that I am getting ready to start covering. He will definitely see me as a customer again.

I think we need to take a poll here, we all know the common interest is old design airplanes, but how many of us (like me) could be considered vintage? And I have just built a Fred Reese Cassutt Special from RCM plans. Should have it flying in another week. Takes a while to get stuff from the states here in Egypt.[&o]

Well I can't say that I am vintage (29... no, really!) but I sure do enjoy these designs! Most airplanes that come out today are just lacking a certain appeal to me. The older designs just had something that most new ones don't.

Does my Dirty Birdi count ? I am 32, but I remember these old pattern planes when I was running around the pits as a kid, and I just fell in love with them.

Beautiful plane fireman7875.
I just got a set of plans for the Sr. Falcon from AMA/Pond collection, and I have a question.
Are the stab ribs all the same thickness? The stab LE, TE and spar are all 1/2" tall from root to tip, so I'm assuming the ribs taper in length, but retain a constant height. Or does the stab get progressively thinner towards the tips? I can't really tell from the plans or from any photos I've seen on the Web.
Thanks!

Go to the VR/CS website, http://www.vintagercsociety.org. There is an approved planes list you can review.
