Default antique solid models

just dug out a box of 1930- 40's antique solid models. 3" wing span that I built and thanks to my mother for saving them. if I recall they were maybe .10 cents, printed wood, by Midway Model Plane Co, 1937 and Whitman Publishing co, 1939. larger ones were my design. man that was a LONG time ago. sure glad she was a string saver. have a few larger ones saved for a later post. dick stamm

Wow.... Treasures indeed!
That Grumman Biplane fighter on its little stand is just incredible. The very essence of model airplane magic.
They should be preserved and displayed.
Congratulations on having a mother with such good sense to preserve your works of art, and thanks for sharing with us.

Nice work! There is something very special about balsa solids, much nicer than plastics...just something in the way they feel when you hold them. I have, uh, quite a few NOS balsa solid models.
