f 86 sabre
I just read a RCM fom 1984 and they had a nice atrticle about a .049 ducted fan Sabre.
I'm looking for some plans for it and even a D/F unit would be nice.
Any one here built one or seen one of these fly?
Take care.

RE: f 86 sabre
what month of 1984?the only .049 ducted fan i remember from back then was the midwest a-4 skyhawk and their .049 fan unit.there was a .20 size f-86 sabre around at that time kitted by house of balsa later pauls flying stuff.kress jets has ducted fan units in the smaller glow sizes the .049 has been kept the same size but now uses an .09 for more thrust.

Oscar my memory is so bad, it must have been a "model airplane news" and from 1985.
And it was not a F86 it was a F84 with a D/F .049 cox.
I flew my ME 262 jet fighter yesterday, but it has just a reglular prop and .049 cox, it's great fun.
Take care

The F-84 was by Walt Musciano. He still has copies of the plan available at his New Jersey address.
Considering the age of the powerplant, it was a marginal flier. Installing a more modern .049 which is better designed for D.F. uses looks to be more promising.
