I have had this kit for years. Still NIB. Fiberglass fuse, sheeted foam wings. But, I don't know what to do with it. If I build it, what engine/muffler combo. What retracts did they use on this bird? I know it was a great plane in it's day. Probably still is. Any suggestions?

Hi Dennis,
I am pretty sure I am going to build it. The more I look at the box, the more I think I would really like it. I have'nt seen any trike gear pattern planes in a long time. And basically that is what I want. I just happen to have a set of rom-air's. And it should'nt be difficult to find an engine. If for some reason I decide to sell it I will let you know.
Thanks for your reply and have a happy holiday season.

I have a Bridi glass Dirty Birdy kit also. My plans are a YS60 RE short stroke mounted so the tuned pipe goes down the right side of fuse and no retracts. Ed.

I built one with fixed gear and piped Irvine 60SE that went like a scalded cat! The YS, ST, Irvine, Rossi, OS FSR, or if you find a good Webra 60 Speed-any would be excellent. Although my sentimental favorite would be the LS Webra with a Hatori pipe. Get chills thinking watching it go vertical! Wonderful airplane.

I use kraft electrics and a Webra Speed Schneurle .61 with a pipe. Nice combo. Great flyer! There is another guy here with one also. He has the exact same combo.
